Day 38 – You are Perfect Right Now

7 02 2010

I rallied for Yoga this morning at 9am and quickly realized I wasn’t prepared physically or mentally for today’s class. I could not focus and every part of my body tired easier than usual. UGGHHHH!

Towards the end of the class Rusty started talking about the philosophy of yoga – it is not a workout or something you should have to make time for, it is a practice you should bring into your day. He also said that everything we have done up until that exact moment was perfect. If we had done anything differently in the past we would not be where we are right now.

Granted we were in a room surrounded by half-naked, sweaty, people, but it felt good. I felt good. And what Rusty said: had we made different choices, said different things, acted in a different way, we would not be the person we are today or even just in that room enjoying the moment with 100 other people. I really like that sentiment. I like thinking that even though I have said or acted stupidly in the past, it is OK as it has brought me to this place. It has made me ‘ME.’ Granted, I still have a lot to learn but I hope I’m learning from my mistakes… and I will continue to focus on being “perfect right now.”
